I'm a pianist, writer, producer and performer - happy to work on projects with singers, songwriters, video/film makers, choreographers and artists.

I live near Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal where I have a small studio. I moved here from London: steeped in the blues since my early teens I love to play and sing the blues - hey all pop, rap, indie music comes from the blues. I've played live in many bands and formats over the years (I currently perform under the name Dr. Aspalls ... like the cider!)

 

I also write for film/video, theatre, performance and radio and use many influences: baroque, classical, jazz, blues, folk, americana, rap and electronics through Bach, Bartok, Benjamin Britten, The Delta Blues, Dr. John, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Randy Newman, Eminem, free-form jazz, Aphex Twin etc. I'm comfortable with most styles for session work and keen to collaborate on songwriting and performance with new (or not so new) artists. I can perform live on piano, keyboards, organ or electronics.
